Farmers Market

Finally managed to get into town on the same day as the farmers. Had a good look around and ended up buying a fair few things.

We got loads of stuff from the 2012 world Jampion Humbers Homemade see Their site here

I can recommend their pickled shallots and Heather says the Banana Jam is fantastic.

Next up we had some lovely bread pudding from  Debbie’s Homemade food and catering Their site is here

Then there was some fresh fish, Haven’t sampled their goods yet but we will be back soon.

There was a fantastic meat stall from Woodhouse Farm. Their website is here

Their sausage rolls are delicious and we got some lovely looking steaks from them for the weekend too as well as some ploughmans ham  for tomorrows lunch.

Next up is some very fresh local fruit from New Creation Farm. They also sell various cordials that look lovely.

Around the corner we found Paddocks Products Farm Shop who had a range of products including some game pie which was available in slices which is great as we have never tried it so we have a small piece in the fridge to share to see if we like it and if we do we will get some more next time.

Looking at all this food was making me hungry and then I walked past the hot food stall I knew I would have to go back there on my way to the car. I’m really glad I did as the pork fillet and stuffing roll with apple sauce was superb. If you are passing and he is there try one you wont regret it.

Opposite the hot food stall is a lovely little stall selling homemade fudge, teddy bears, piggy banks and lots of other stuff

Back over on the other side is another fruit and veg stall. All organic and some of the freshest looking produce I have seen for a long time

Next up a bread stall where we got some cheese and garlic bread that looks really nice, some olive bread and some smoked bacon and forest blue cheese bread that should be interesting

Finally there’s a cheese stall which looked great but we had too much fresh food to eat so we will have to hit the cheese stall next time we visit.

If you see the signs around town saying the Market is going to be there (third Friday of the Month) then make sure you pop in, its really worth it.
