Great feat – local charity’s new service

It’s been a long time coming but now the people of Milton Keynes can all have twinkle toes. Chief executive Jane Palmer was delighted to sample the delights of the new Footcare Service that Age UK Milton Keynes launched today.

Neat Feet footcare agents will visit people in their home to provide a regular toenail cutting service, usually every six to eight weeks.

The service is for older people and people with a physical disability or learning disability who can no longer manage to cut their own toenails, and have no carer or family support to help them.

“Looking after your feet is one of the most important aspects of personal health care, whatever your age” said Jane Palmer. “Sore and neglected feet and nails can stop you getting out and about and we want to help people stay active and avoid long-term health problems. Our aim is to keep older people stronger for longer.”
