Man hospitalised after roundabout assault

A man had to be taken to hospital after he was assaulted on a roundabout in Newport Pagnell on Saturday.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at 11.30pm as a 46-year-old was walking home on the roundabout near High Street, Marsh End Road and Wolverton Road.

He was approached by an unknown man, who shouted abuse at him. He avoided him, weaving around traffic at the roundabout, before ending up on one of the traffic islands. The offender then punched him twice on the right side of his head.

This caused a slight puncture wound on his ear, possibly caused by a ring. He required treatment at Milton Keynes General Hospital.
