Geoffrey O’Brien, of the Newport Pagnell and Olney Lions Club, is the extremely happy organiser of the three events being held in Newport Pagnell later this year.
“I am truly ecstatic, delighted, well chuffed and very, very pleased with the response and support that we have received for our new events in the town. I am just so thrilled to say that two of the three events, to be held in the URC Church Hall, in the High Street, are already fully booked. Fantastic!
“Our gifts, goodies and crafts fair, to be held on July 20th, really has a good mix of local people exhibiting, specialising in a variety of skills. I am amazed at the talented folk producing silver or gold jewellery, working in wood or creating wonderful cakes and pastries. Combine that with traders offering fragrances, glassware and unusual home accessories and gifts, and visitors to the show will not be disappointed.
“Our good friends from Cha Char Chimps Trolley Dollies will be providing refreshments and we will have, as a wonderful bonus, traditional ice cream from Bradshaw’s of Buckingham. Delicious.
“There will be no entry fee to the public and we welcome all the family, one and all.
“The Newport Pagnell and Olney Lions Club has a membership of 15 vigorous gentlemen and two youthful ladies. More members or “Friends” are always welcome. In 2012 the Club raised in excess of £17,000 for good causes at home and abroad. We aim to better that in 2013.
“This year we are actively supporting the Newport Pagnell Carnival and will be manning the four entry points to the Riverside Meadow site.”
