Roy Pink: bike repairer and enthusiast

Cycling is about more than medals and glory. It’s about fun, freedom – and for some people it’s about extraordinary commitment. This summer we’re turning the spotlight on the unsung stars of cycling – the people who give up their time and energy to help and inspire others to get the most out of their riding.
Shortlisted for the Central and East region: Roy Pink from Newport Pagnell

The Roy Pink Cycles shop has been a much-loved fixture on Newport Pagnell High Street for over twenty years. Roy, a former service engineer at Aston Martin, took up cycling after a car accident, but didn’t realise how important a part it would come to play in his life. Over the years he has repaired hundreds of bikes for local people, as well as restoring and building Penny Farthings, and using his engineering skills to carry out tailor-made modifications for disabled riders.

Roy is a regular fixture in the carnival parade on his penny farthing and really is part of Newport Pagnell please go Here and like and retweet the story to Vote for Roy
