Stoke Goldington CE First School update
A very Happy New Year and best wishes for 2013 from everyone at Stoke Goldington CE First School.
We are looking forward to our New Year learning when term starts once more on Monday 7th January, packed with new topics & activities, trips plus plenty of opportunities for our parents and the local community to get involved with their village primary school.
Looking back, the run-up to Christmas was a fun-filled, hectic time for all the children (and staff!) and by the end of term everyone was definitely ready for a relaxing festive break. Highlights included a fantastic Christmas performance by all 27 children called ‘Hey Ewe’ which featured the traditional nativity story unfolding through the eyes of a particularly excitable and curious sheep! There were 7 very catchy tunes to enjoy and the wise kings, intuitive shepherds, beautiful little angels plus Mary and Joseph themselves were all played with great enthusiasm, care and attention to detail by the wonderful cast. There were two performances and the audiences at both were certainly very appreciative!
The whole School also enjoyed a festive trip to The Stables at Wavendon to enjoy a magical production of The Secret Garden on stage. The trip was made in conjunction with North Crawley CE First School which Stoke Goldington is joined with under The Ouse Valley Partnership. Children from both Schools really enjoyed the show and there were some sleepy-heads on the coach travelling back after a much longer School day than usual!
A School Christmas party rounded off term and thanks must go to all our staff, parents, Governors and the Friends of Stoke Goldington CE First School who all helped to create such a varied and packed term at School. And most importantly thanks to our children – who always enjoy every minute of it!
