Stoke Goldington CE First School – May Update

Stoke Goldington CE First School

Celebrates ‘Outstanding’ achievement

This month we have the very exciting news that our recent Ofsted inspection was rewarded with a result of ‘Outstanding’ – the highest grade awarded by the School inspections team. Staff, pupils, parents and Governors are incredibly proud of this achievement for our small village First School and a special afternoon tea event was held at School to mark celebrate the news. This is an especially notable achievement as our partner School, North Crawley CE First School (under the Ouse Valley Partnership) was also rated ‘Outstanding’ during its Ofsted inspection in June last year. There are very few partnership Schools across the Milton Keynes area in which both settings are judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in this way. Headteacher Mrs. Kathryn Crompton said: “Our Ofsted inspection result is a fabulous achievement for a school to accomplish and we are particularly proud of our children and staff who have worked so hard to gain this accolade.” What’s more, School has also been awarded a Basic Skills Primary Quality Mark Award for the third time. The Basic Skills Quality Mark promotes, supports and celebrates progress and improvements made by a school in English and Maths – the ‘bedrock’ of a good education. There was a rigorous assessment for School to undertake to achieve renewal of this award for the third time and it was the icing on the cake following our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted result too! In the run-up to a well-deserved Easter holiday break, all 26 pupils from Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 2 welcomed parents and families into School for a whole raft of events and assemblies. There was a very touching Mother’s Day assembly when each child described how much they love their Mums through fabulous pictures, poems, words and prayers.
