Town Council Planting Plans for 2012

Free wild flower seeds are available for registered ‘In Bloom’ groups. If you have suggestions where wild flowers could be planted in the town please let the town council know

The Town Council is also thinking about applying for funding from the Defra BIG Tree Plant which runs until 2015 with £4.2m available in England to support community groups to plant trees in towns, cities and residential areas. The closing date for the application forms is Spring 2012. The scheme has a theme of planting trees where you live and work. The schemes have to be sustainable with applicants having to show that there are plans in place to look after the trees.

If you have suggestions where an area could benefit from a tree planting scheme the town council would love to hear from you. Also if you know of groups that would like to voulnteer and provide funding for the schemes please also let the town council know as well.
